We have all seen the halls of the university’s football complex. On it is plastered with cool quotes, which I am a fan of, and slogans that look really good in the schools colors. We have also seen leaders fall due to empty words and gestures that didn’t line up with the slogans, missions, values, and words posted on the wall or company website.
We aren’t inspired anymore by words. We are inspired by the actions of the leaders we CHOOSE to follow. A leader I choose to follow is Pastor Earl McClellan. He is the pastor of Shoreline City Church in Dallas. Not only do I know him as a voice in my podcast ears, or visit my virtual church while I live in St. Louis, but I follow him as a person. I have seen and played ball with him. I have seen how he treats others. I have seen his energy alter the entire room. I have seen how his infectious behavior pulls people towards him. And I have felt my soul gripped and my intentions changed through these very interactions.
He does this with love, authenticity, and through daily actions. It inspires me to be better, to be a #HealthyLeader.
Close your eyes and think of someone who inspires you. What do they do that draws you to them? What actions do they take on the daily that you see and that you might be able to replicate on your own? What attributes do they have that you would like to improve?
Once you truly see someone for who they are, you can see the actions and not the words! We encourage you to go out and live the actions, even if it is just for today. Have a great Fryday and God Bless
