Morning Cup of ☕️ - In the Gray

Good morning. It is Fryday and I hope you don’t need the coffee as much as I do. Either way, you bring the coffee and maybe even your team, and I will bring the quick idea for helping your team maximize the strengths of one another.

Mental health has been a very popular item amongst the agendas of the work place and schools, and in our country’s military. It is of the utmost importance. Some of you are likely going through what my man Jay Glazer calls the Gray. In a recent podcast with the mentor Ed Mylett, he discusses what works for when he is in the Gray. It is that darker place where your mind goes to the thoughts and worries of things way outside our control. It grips us and doesn’t let us go.

Here are 3 things we need to get out of the gray a little faster. It helps make the gray a short hotel visit and not a permanent resident at the casa.

You need a TEAM. The team members I am talking about are people you can call, literally, when you are struggling. These people will take you to get coffee, the gym, or there to listen so you can hash it out.

Get in the SERVICE of OTHERS. Helping others magnifies and increases the dopamine and serotonin levels that make you feel good. Help someone with solutions for their problems, hold the door open, see what you can do for the next person you see.

LAUGH. Obviously I know this is much easier said than done. But make sure you try to surround yourself with people, things, movies, or social media that can help bring you a smile, laugh, or even heart busting joy. Create time for you to spend with people who do that.

We hope this helps you now or in the future should you need this reminder. Have a great Fryday and God Bless
