We are all bombarded with leadership blogs (mine included) and books written by everyone and their mama. We are all focused on ourselves when we could be doing a little of ourselves (our oxygen mask first) AND the team. Here are 3 ways we can do just that.
1️⃣ Maintain your prioritization of the little things. The little things are your process. They are what you do every single day. Trust your process. Do you have a process? What are the tasks you can set ahead of time, that if you do, it would create a WIN for your day?
2️⃣ Trust Your Team. You don’t need to do everything. You do your process and your responsibilities, and then you leave your team to do their processes and their responsibilities. If they slip and they will slip (just as you have done), hold them accountable for their actions. It is not a position you hold over them but a responsibility to the team and the mission of the team. Trust them to do it! Encourage them. Empower them.
3️⃣ Stop Focusing on The Outcome. Trust me. I know the outcome is important. Very important. But if we focus on it solely, we will strip our ability to see the growth, see the bigger picture, and also negate the ability to be able to move backwards to move forwards.
