Coping with Suicide

Most of you know the kind of material we put out on this platform. Our goal is to be a light in the darkness. Our purpose is to lead those who are BOLD, who are CURIOUS, who have something tugging at their very core and yet they can’t quite figure out what it is.

Today is not a day for that. Today’s purpose is to help our leaders, managers, and especially coaches deal with something that is happening more often than it should. Suicide is a very difficult topic of conversation for some of us. There are some that we may know someone who took their lives, been close to them, or family members of one. Our hearts go out to you.

Coach Heather Hunsucker shares what it looks like for a coach who has lost someone to suicide. She provides the story and tips for those of you in charge of any team. This is a very real situation. Our hope is that the leaders in our community will have a place they can come to and receive the words that Coach Hunsucker so eloquently wrote. We love Coach Hunsucker and cannot imagine her pain that occurred. We thank her for her willingness to share something so close to the vest.

We hope this serves as a reminder that we can all do a little more hugging, a little more loving, and maybe demonstrate a little more grace for those that might be hurting. God Bless
