4 Tips to Improve Your Team

Whether we are in business looking to finish the quarter strong or we are in sports looking to challenge our team to become just what they might be capable of, these 4 areas of concentration are a great place to start. We never have the correct answers for everyone but everyone can begin thinking about some of the best ways they can look through the lens of their specific team. The focus for you might be how and what it might look like for your team in each of these fields.

Communication- Do you have a shared language within your team? Does your team use different words for the same thing and only enhancing the miscommunication? How might you be able to listen to your team in order for you to communicate better?

Work In Groups- How often can you get your team to work in smaller groups? How can you as a leader put your team in position to break comfort levels & increase the usage of each member’s voice? Try breaking groups up in different teams throughout the month and challenge your team.

Problem Solving- Allow your team to be curious throughout the problem solving process. Ask questions from different angles. Get different perspectives. Encourage multiple ways to solve the problem and praise team members who experience the success of getting the problem correct. What problems might you be able to have your team solve? Are you willing to let go of HOW they do it?

Take Risks- All too often we let the risk outweigh the journey or quest. By allowing your team to take risks, they will be able to better serve one another, feel more comfortable in uncomfortable situations, and find ways to challenge the status quo. What might this look like for you and your team?
