We need some "DON'T CARE"

In successful companies across the globe, you find a culture where inspiration is contagious. You find a place everyone is focused on what the team accomplishes. You will find that the leadership team doesn’t care. Wait what?

You have an idea that will help improve your team’s performance. Your teammate has one too. The only thing is their idea is better. Good. DON’T CARE. If it is for the success of our team’s mission/goal, I don’t care. Let’s use my teammates idea.

Your boss gives you a crappy task like taking out the trash, sweeping the locker room, teaching the new team member, or printing out brochures for team camp. Good. DON’T CARE. “I will do it.”

Doing some of these above can feel demeaning, hurtful, or just plain damage our ego. Great leadership is willing to put the ego aside in order to get the job done, regardless of the “level” of the job. What does this look like to others? We increase our willingness to demonstrate our humility. We build trust in our teammates by allowing for their idea to be moved forward instead of ours. We show our dedication to put the team first. These traits help your team WIN.

Be a LIGHT and God Bless
