Morning Cup of ☕️ - 9 Minutes

Your morning cup of coffee is right here. We hope you bring the cup and we will bring the inspiration, motivation, and ideas to help you and your team elevate today.

Today’s article is something that I struggle with. I struggle with being a “good” parent. I struggle with being a “good” leader. I struggle with both of these daily and I imagine I struggle with it many, many times throughout the day. It hits home! Literally.

I was approached with this idea as a parent and certainly suggest it for when you get home. But, let’s not stop there. Let us do this in our day and with our teams. Let me explain.

9 minutes with your kids. We are going to break the 9 minutes into 3 3-minute chunks and see what we can make happen.
-3 minutes with your kids as soon as they wake up. What kind of energy, love, and life can you give them during these 3 minutes? What would this look like for your first 3 minutes with your team/co-workers? What would you want them to feel?

-3 minutes with your kids when you get home. The kids don’t recognize the amount of time you spend with them. They recoginze the amount of energy and attitude you bring when you show up. What could you do throughout the day/office/conversations that might be able to shift attitude and energy as you work?

-3 minutes with your kids before bed. Are you reading to them? Are they reading to you? Are you inviting creativity? As you leave work, what experience could you illicit before leaving? How can you make them feel before departing work and on to the rest of their lives for the day? What would they say if they had a conversation with someone after work? Write down feelings you would want them to have?

Now what will you do with this? Have a great day and God Bless
